Giving Thanks

In keeping with the spirit of Thanksgiving, this week’s blog is dedicated to thankfulness. I am very thankful to my clients and their families for trusting me to be a part of your lives! It is truly an honor! I also want to thank all those who have been a part of AZ Pranic Healing in any way this year. I truly appreciate your contributions and support!

Dealing with the STRESS Pandemic

We all have “those” kinds of days. Days where nothing seems to go your way, and your stress level just inches higher and higher. The underlying pandemic existing in the world today is the stress pandemic. Do a quick google search and you can see the multitude of damaging effects that stress has on our bodies.

How Does CranioSacral Therapy work?

I’m sure you have spoken to people who have made a seemingly harmless movement that results in a significant injury (i.e. “I just reached down to pick up a book and threw out my back”). In fact, I hear variations on this over and over again in my practice. In actuality, the injury is not a result of the simple movement which seemed to have resulted in a serious injury, but is a result of ALL of the movements and injuries that the body has had to accommodate to over the years.

Being Present

Being Present – so “simple,” and yet such a challenge at the same time. Over the last year of being unable to freely travel, being present in the moment is the thing that I have missed the most about being on vacations. While I enjoy seeing and experiencing new places, people, and foods, what has hit home is the simplicity of being present for even the mundane/everyday things, such as drinking a cup of coffee, that is wonderful when I am away from my normal environment. I find that it is so easy to get into a routine at home where my day is mapped out and things flow along and, before I know it, it’s time for dinner and I’m wondering where the day has gone. I find that, when I am out of my typical environment, it is somehow easier to be present in the moment because even doing a daily activity, such as eating breakfast, is something I am present for because it is not routine.

Getting the Most from Each Breath

Breathing…. This is something that our bodies take care of that we don’t need to concern ourselves about, right? I mean, if you are reading this you are obviously breathing, so why worry about it? Yes, obviously you are breathing, but is your body getting the MOST out of the breath for the effort it is using? That is the focus of this blog… getting the most out of each breath that we take.

Pranic Healing and Stuttering

As both a Speech Language Pathologist and a Pranic Healer, stuttering is a diagnosis that I have encountered throughout my career. As a Speech Language Pathologist, we are taught in school that stuttering is either anxiety based or has an anxiety component (depending on the research referenced). However, we are taught little to actually assist a client in overcoming the anxiety. Instead, we are instructed to teach strategies, such as speaking in melodic tones, “sliding” a stuttered word, or whatever the newest language pattern altering technique happens to be at the time, typically with only fair results.

Pranic Healing and CranioSacral Therapy for Pets

A question that I have been getting a lot lately is whether CranioSacral Therapy or Pranic Healing are beneficial to animals. My answer is a resounding YES!!! Both CranioSacral Therapy and Pranic Healing are incredible options for animals. Both are natural options that promote the system’s self-healing mechanism.

Client Experience of Distance CranioSacral Therapy

When speaking to someone who is interested in Distance CranioSacral Therapy, but has not yet experienced this modality, a question that I often hear is: “What is it like?”. This is not an easy question to answer as everyone has a slightly different experience. Some individuals feel calming of the system, others feel pulsing or heat. Often there are subtle shifts in the body as it moves into an improved alignment. Although the shifts are subtle, they have a great impact on the person’s inner balance and overall health.

I would like to share with you one of my client’s experience of Distance CranioSacral Therapy sessions here so you get a better idea of what I am talking about:

CranioSacral Therapy Intensives

CranioSacral Therapy intensives are a concentrated amount of CranioSacral Therapy generally completed over one or more weeks. Sessions can be scheduled in a variety of ways: a few hours per day over the course of a week (or multiple weeks), or several sessions over a few days. These intensive sessions are a powerful way to quickly make changes.

CranioSacral Therapy after a Brain Injury or Stroke

After a brain injury or stroke you may consider getting physical therapy or speech therapy to help to regain lost abilities. These are amazing options (I am a speech language pathologist after all). However, although these therapies help to retrain the body/brain, how are you supporting the HEALING of the brain?

Supporting, Not Forcing, Healing

I have been asked many times, “Why do you do CranioSacral Therapy and Pranic Healing? They are so different.”

What has led me to study and practice both of these therapy modalities?

What is the similarity between CranioSacral Therapy and Pranic Healing?

The greatest commonality is that both modalities, when done correctly, are not forceful.
